This is a team shoot. Right-handers on one team, left-handers on the other.

Take 5 Shots at the center of a standard 8.5" x 11" sheet of typing/printer paper with an X drawn thru the center at 25 yards. Sighting spots are allowed.
I need 5 shots on paper for this one.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.
Also write either "Lefty" or "Righty" on your target so I know which team you're on.

One target entry per member.

5 shots on paper per target.

Mutilated targets and targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

No do-overs.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzleloading firearms (NO Cannons). Percussion or flintlock, matchlock or wheel lock ignition.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance.(Seated is allowed for members who are unable to stand, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso)(In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle)

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.

The center of the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Team scores will be determined by the average score of all members targets for each team. Each teams score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Mail your target postmarked by August 7, 2017 to;

Jim Green
P.O.Box 322
Pekin, IL 61555

Targets will not be returned unless an S.A.S.E. is included.

Be safe and have fun! :hatsoff:

Today everything was right and I shot the right target for the right team today. I used the right amount of powder with the right patched round ball to shoot and I also managed to place almost all of my shots on the right side of the target to make sure Jethro would score the target the right way. After hitting target the right amount of times, I came straight home and put the target in the mail right away with the right amount of postage and the right address. :grin:

Well, it's only right that I try to shoot in this one. After all, I was left with wanting to shoot more after the partner match.

I didn't want to be LEFT out. :idunno: Even tho I ain't RIGHT. :hmm: I did make my gun RIGHT and it shot from center to the RIGHT. I do have a Left hand on the LEFT arm, but that just holds my rifle gun up RIGHT and hopefully steady up 'nuff. Five shots for the RIGHT team. :confused: I LEFT the other team out of it. :applause: They's probably going to be proud of that. I'm going now that I dunn LEFT my jibber'n. :doh: Got to get the envelope LEFT in the mail so's it gets to the RIGHT place at the RIGHT time. Bye Y'all. :shake:

Good lord I am in a real pickle....I don't know my left from my right. I don't want to be left out and I do want to be right so HMMMMMM. :cursing: :confused: :surrender:

Dave

Yep, I have a right/left confusion, too. But I'll try to get to the range Tuesday and shoot RIGHT HANDED!

Shot my target today. Pretty good 4 shot group ( I swear there's 4 in there Jethro! ),and a dang hangfire got me on the flyer.

All in all I'm satisfied for not shooting for nearly 3 months and using my smoothbore.

Well, Jethro, I shot my rifle and pistol targets today. Surprise! I actually hit the paper! I'll mail mine in tomorrow.

Speaking of which, with 58caliber "off the grid" (his words) in the back of beyond for a week, who's going to ride Jethro about posting results? :wink:

Someone needs to! :hmm:

Now worries, I am sure Jethro will run right down to the Post office and open the right mail box to retrieve all the right targets and then hurry home right away. After that he will write down all of the scores for the right team and realize he left the left targets in his truck and he will score the targets that were left behind. After he reads this post he will post the scores right away. May the right team win!

Looks like you guys had it covered. :)
I've been away and busy for a few weeks. Didn't really realize how much time was flying by. Must be 'cause I'm an old guy now... :idunno: :surrender:

Anyway, here are the long-awaited results;

This didn't quite go the way I thought it would. The leftys were seriously out-numbered. Good thing we're going by average score...

The Righty team consisted of 7 shooters, a couple of which chose smoothbores.
Hanshi
Silky921
58 Caliber
Hermit
MDK_WV
Mad Irish Jack
and Maven

The Lefty team consisted of..... Smokepole Sam.

Sam put up a good fight with a average score of 2.405"
But the Righty team prevailed in the end with an average score of 1.768".

Grats to the righty team for the win. :hatsoff:
And grats to Smokepole Sam for his valiant efforts against insurmountable odds.

Just for curiosities sake;
Top shooter was Maven with a 1.150" average
2nd was Silky921 with 1.372" using his smoothbore
and 3rd was Mad Jack with 1.400"

Thanks for playing. Sorry for the delay. I'll get another going soon.

Thanks again, Jethro and congratulations to all who participated in this match. :) Btw, that's the best I've done all season and hugely better than I did in a local woods walk today. :shocked2:
Can't wait to see what's in store next month.
