To try and make up for not starting a new contest at the beginning of April, and just 'cause it sounded fun, I'm gonna go (sorta) with Mad Jack's idea of a 5-part contest. This should keep you guys busy dirtyin' up guns until the end of May. :haha:

1- Smoothie 25 yd offhand, 1 ounce of whatever shot size wanted at plain paper, closest pellet to center.

2- Smoothie with ball, 25 yd, offhand at plain paper, closest to center.

3- Rifle OH at 25 yd, plain sheet paper, closest to center.

4- Rifle rested at 50 yd, plain sheet paper, closest to center.

And #5 would be the total distance closest to center for all four shots.

Take each shot at the center of a separate standard 8.5" x 11" sheet of typing/printer paper with NO sighting spots etc. If you miss, do not try again. Misses count!

One target entry per member / per category.

1 shot per target, hit or miss.

Mutilated targets and targets with more than the stated amount of holes will be disqualified.

No do-overs.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzleloading firearms (NO Cannons). Percussion or flintlock, matchlock or wheel lock ignition.

Single patched round ball only (except for the shotgun target). No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance.(Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso)(In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle)

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.

The center of the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score(s) will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.
Also which target it is. Rifle 25, rifle 50, SB. Shot is kinda self explanatory. :haha:

Mail your target postmarked by May 31, 2017 to;

Jim Green
P.O.Box 322
Pekin, IL 61555

Targets will not be returned unless an S.A.S.E. is included.

Be safe and have fun! :hatsoff:

Yep. I guess I forgot to mention that.
Any member can enter any or all categories. Those that enter all categories are in it for the agg, #5.

That's time enough for me to do smoothie with ball and 25 & 50 yds with rifle ball; if weather holds, etc, etc.

So just to be sure. That's a total of 4 shots. One each on a blank sheet of paper. Never done this before so...

That is correct for this contest.

OK my targets are on the way. Going to try and get the 2X4 done as well. We are headed for our cabin in Vermont in the AM so I will have only a couple of days before the 31st when we get back so we will see if I can get r done or not. Besides I am still trying to figure out how to box up the 2X4 so it will fit in a PO Box!!!!! :rotf: Back in a week or so.

Dave

Have a good trip Dave.
I'm headed to TN for a rondy the 24th thru the 28th.
If there's a 2x4 in my P.O. box when I get back... :slap:

:haha:

Jethro, my friend. Which rondy in TN did you attend? :hmm: Just curious. I was checkin out some on line to see just where they be in relation to southwestern PA.(distance wise, that is) :idunno:

The Widowmakers (club I'm in) has their annual club rondy every Memorial day weekend. It's just a small gathering. No public. But we have a great shoot and an awesome good time.
