Who can/will build a custom barrel for a CVA mountain rifle stock? This rifle has a 54 cal barrel. I would like a 50 cal slow-twist barrel made for it.

Rice will generally make anything you want. Just provide the measurements or send them the current barrel to duplicate. You may also want to check Track and a few otehr retailers, they may have the barrel you need already in stock. There are also a lot of CVA barrels on Ebay.

why not just buy a new Mountain Rifle barrel from Deer Creek? available in flint or cap in either 45 or 50 caliber and at $115.00 bucks plus whatever the sights & under-rib adds to the price will likely be no more than you'd spend just on a blank to have one made.

Wrong size barrel. The 54 cal barrel is 1 inch across the flats. The 45 and 50 cal are either 7/8 or 15/16 across the flats. That thought had previously crossed my mind until I checked the diameter.

a couple thicknesses of maskin' tape on the bottom half of the barrel will take up the little bit of slack involved, if it's even a problem in the first place. I've seen people use T/C Hawken barrels in Renegade stocks with no problem.

Oregon barrel co, Best there is. Look up the gunworks on the internet. Joe williams.
