Kill it! Here in Pennsylvania you can hunt coyotes 24/365. They are wolf hybrids, and have killed humans. When I started hunting, there were no coyotes here. Now, they are everywhere in the state, including the big cities. I suspect they have a hand in the current downtrend in the turkey population, and are undoubtedly making inroads on the deer. A pack of them can bring down a moose.

I have some doubts about the "killed humans" part of that. Not saying it's untrue, but I've never heard of it. Any documentations of any kind?

Canada had a confirmed Coyote kill a Human afew years ago..All my encounters with coyotes, few, they are going or gone before I knew they were there, see tracks or glimps of them going away. .

Last year I shot a 53# coyote here in CT with a 36 caliber Muzzle loader. I have shot coyotes in the past but this was the biggest I had ever seen until this past deer season when I saw one that was significantly bigger than the one I shot last year.

The feed must be good around here. I know there are plenty of deer, but lately I have not been seeing very many young deer. I think the coyotes are getting the fawns shortly after they are born.

Normal Coyote for western Wv. Only game left here are Squirrels and they are on the way down. :(

Looks like some of the bigger coyotes around here.

I wacked a similar one that was running deer almost 30 years ago

Thank you, VlC.

I'm going out, but google re the young woman killed by coyotes in Ontario (she was a popular singer).

Aricle I read from Maine wildlife officer said that the Eastern Coyotes there are bringing down adult moose!

Also, too many people have aquired wolf/dog mixes as pets - a friend had one that was 90+% pure wolf. Too often, these end up escaping or being released into the wild.

I agree I predator call and also trap coyotes. The eastern ones are much larger than most western yotes. Just looks like a yote. The back marking- could be anything even mange.

Lets see.... biologically = since dogs, wolfs and coyotes can inter breed and produce fertile offspring they are all the same animal with different adaptations, often differentiated as "races". It looks like the "coyotes" that have invaded Virginia in the last 20 years. Mostly like that with color variation from black to red to gray to tan and variations of same. Like that animal they have varying coats depending on shedding and how/where the longer guard hair ewtc is patterned. If that thing had shorter legs and a bit of rufous about the face it would look like a big gray fox. Like some of the spec war units say... killem all, let god sort them out! FP

Zebra . . . . :idunno: but my eyes are getting a little old. :rotf:

You know, I could vaguely make out black/white stripes.......no, wait, white and black stripes. Wait again, the stripes were on my glasses. :idunno:

The first time I ever saw a coyote in Georgia was back in the mid 1960s. By the 1970s they were all over the place.

Yep!....Use to trap them and hunt them....We even had a small army of men who hunted them....They come in all shapes, sizes and colors....No matter what you think it is, once you put a hole in it.. it's a coyote.....
