Finally got around to taking some pics of my Tennessee long rifle and brass pistol both are .50 cal

54, I don't have my glasses on. What is that hanging off the back of the trigger guard? The brass flintlock is... interesting, and left-handed no less.

Love those iron-mounted southern rifles, especially in flint. Pretty wood, too!

That is just a finger rail and is part of the guard
The brass pistol is not PC by any means, it was my first build and is pretty much a fantasy piece. The only thing that I didn't make from scratch is the lock, the wood is cherry

Dixie,
When I got the rifle it had a percussion lock on it and it just didn't look right, a southern long rifle just has to have a flint lock on it :haha: it has a 42" strait green mountain barrel ' a Durs Egg lock and I made the coned vent liner from a 1/4" stainless bolt.

I think what Alden is talking about, looks like a knot hole in the fence to me. Very nice guns BTW.

Yes, if he's talking about the dark spot right under the trigger bow, that is indeed a knothole

I love the lines on the rifle, I'm a lefty and even have a left handed GPR flintlock, but I always seem to grab the Tennessee first. I've had a buddy at the club trying to talk me out ofit for two years now.

thanks all for the kind comments, I acquired the rifle I n a trade deal for a 1" bore swivel gun that I built years ago, I had it set up in front of my tent at a rondy and this old boy came by and said "I got to have that cannon" I told him I hadn't thought of sellin' it, He said "I got a rifle over in my tent come check it out" and he come out carrying this beauty. I'm 6'5" and it fit me like a glove(14 and 3/4 pull) I said done deal. I didn't have the heart to tell him I only had about $40 rapped up in the cannon if you don't count my time.
