I bought some bright orange fingernail polish about 40 years ago, and still have the same bottle today. When refrigerated, the stuff lasts practically forever.

Something else to consider is first applying some silver polish, and then the orange over it - makes the orange brighter than if applied directly over a blued sight blade.

I have one in stainless and that odd front sight as you mentioned always glared at me so i filed it to a sorta forward ramp style and now i can hit a cow pile anytime well almost everytime but it helped and I'm like you i just go down in the pasture sit under a shade tree and leter rip. Hope this helps

My target Remmy (ugly as those sights are!) is a tack driver...best shooter in the bunch (I have 6 Remmies)You'll like it.

I have a Ruger Old Army that I have gone over and tricked out but still shoot better with my old Pietta 58 that has had the full trick out job done to it as well.
The Ruger is good but I always shoot a bit better scores with the Pietta. Go figure. Mike D.
