Off the front porch. My sons and nephews loved it!!! Brown Bess carbine, 100 grains FF Goex with a paper wad. Did it about ten times before we decided to put it away. We can get away with a little more mischief than usual tonight, but why push our luck?

And now, boys & girls, you can see why flintlock shooters flinch! :haha:

Just imagine one hundred or so .75 cal balls heading your way every 4-5 seconds thanks to your disiplined and capably officered British ranks of 3 or 4 deep redcoats and you begin in a small way to appreciate what was faced for your Independence. :shocked2: And then you get the bayonet! :shocked2: :shocked2: Treestalker. (Whose ancestor Francis O'Connor fought in Doyle's Company of Irish Volunteers for His Majesty George III.) Thanks Flatwater for the nightfiring picture of a 'Bess going off!

Did the same some years ago off the back porch of a friend-couple's hayseed family's 4th of July party with a SLP and wadded 85 gr. charges. LOL

If only the now-divorced couple's wife would stop trying to "friend" me...

Hopefully soon we will be moving from the city limits to the country so we can do things like this! I thought about doing that all day yesterday. Glad someone did!

As a side note...

So what do you do with leftover firecrackers? Sneak into the bedroom with a sack of Blackcats and a stock pot. I'm still not sure why I'm in trouble????

Means he blew his wife up and now has to wait 3-4 months longer than he would have on July 3rd to buy his next BP gun (I think). Hope he didn't use the grits pot or could be close to a year! :rotf:

Kinda what azmntnan said; put the ol' mountain man sneak on her, slid into the bedroom, put a whole bunch if firecrackers in the stockpot, aka "sound chamber", and let 'er rip!!!!! :shocked2:

U went into the bedroom where your wife was (I presume) sleeping and lit firecrackers in a big pot? Please tell us you're kidding...

after showing that picture to my normally sane wife. She said "you 'll have to do that sometime"
Almost floored me.

Dang it man!!! Run out & buy another gun!

:idunno: you said "you 'll have to do that sometime". You didn't think I could do it with the guns I had? did ya?

Not kidding. Getting ahead is all. I have begun to fear birthdays as the wifey-poo and kidlets spend the whole year figuring out what to do to dear old Dad every year; bag of flour over the shower curtain, firecrackers in bed, substitute salt for sugar in my birthday apple pie, etc. Gosh, I love them!!!! :)
