A kentucky white tail.
Spike buck. Shot with a 45 cal, 80gr FFFG and PRB. He decided to fall part way down a steep ravine and made for a very difficult night. BUT we got him home and have sufficiently recovered from the ordeal to go after a doe to finish out my limit. If not this week, There is always the December week of Muzzle Loading.
 
Good going!!! Looks like a good sized deer for a spike. That will be some good eating for sure. Congratulations. Sure is a beautiful rifle that you harvested it with too. What's the particulars of it.
 
Good on you, PJC. Sounds like an adventure, to me, and with a flintlock. Good luck on the next round. A fat doe on level ground would be nice. :haha:

Its a chore getting deer out of these hollars aint it? Do mind me asking what part of Ky you were in? Nice rifle by the way!

We are close to Salt Lick,
We shop at Morehead and Mt Stirling.
North of Frenchburg
Bath County.
The deer was shot in the Pioneer Weapons area
of the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Nice work, looks like big deer for a spike. Hoping to get my first flintlock whitetail in PA's flintlock season.

That's a nice deer!! My season starts next Monday, Will be heading out Sunday to get to my brothers, So Monday and Tuesday I'll be in the woods. Hoping to put a few pictures up myself next week!!. Everybody have a good time in the woods this year and be safe!!.
