made meat with my Edwin Parry Blackhart Long Arms Bonewitz rifle.

Very Nice!! those are some big does! It's great to put meat on the table with a Flintlock, it looks like you had a great time with some great scenery around you :surrender: . Btw, can we get some close up pictures of that rifle? It looks nice!. Us folks can't get of pictures of flintlocks. A member since 2007 where have you been? 2nd post I see.

Hey guys, thanks for all the kind responses. I'm not much of a computer whizz. This stuff really intimidates me! Actually, this is my first attempt at posting a pic. This one is a little closer, but not much better. Sorry. The rifle can be seen (with far better pics than I can take or post) on the Blackhart Longarms web site under "gallery". "Bonewitz Rifle." It has a 44 inch .54 swamped Rice barrel, deluxe Chambers/Siler lock--and, the exquisite building, engraving, carving by Edwin Parry--one of the very best IMHO. It's a tack-driver. Yes, the canoe is a Grumman--but not mine--I was only a scared-to-death passenger aboard holding on to his rifle with white knuckles! I wasn't worried about getting wet--that happened anyway due to all the wading we had to do. I was afraid of tipping and losing my rifle! I needn't have worried. My partner and host (in his 80's!) was a superb pilot. The hunt was more than worth all the effort. We were in a "target rich environment"!

Looks like a great adventure!
Can't beat the feeling of taking a deer with a custom flintlock.

That's a excellent hunt, How much did those does weight? they look around #150lbs, They look like they have very nice (fat?) size hams and shoulders from here Not like some skinny ones we have down here in the south of Alabama, our Temps just don't get cold long enough for them to pack on the meat and fat if we could hunt them through mid Feb. it would be better for us. How many days were ya'll out hunting?.
