No, not that kind of lucky. I had a stupid little 4 point walk 18 yards from me.
Meat in the freezer! :)

When they are that close, a skinny neck isn't so skinny.

I'd say any buck with a flinter is a trophy. Congratulations. and nice shootin'.

Congrats, Patocazador! Time for some grilled backstrap

Congrats on some fine eatin'.

In the last video I got from Brian Beckum they were shooting all their deer right at the base of the neck like yours and they were all dropping right there. Guess it's my 40 years of bowhunting, but I can't bring myself to aim anywhere other than the chest even though those neck shots sure do the job!

Me neither. I'm a chest man. I like to have a little room for error in my shot placement. A good shot to the boiler room always seems to bring them down.

Great shot, and great venison for the freezer. I like the same shot when deer is calm and close, and the shoulder shot on a moving deer, as most of mine are being a tracker. As the " Patriot" said to his boys....." aim small, miss small"

congrats on your hunt. Good shot. You're right about the size of the target, but looks like you pulled it off just great. That'll some good eating for sure. Don't be fooled, that was a successful hunt and a trophy in my eyes.
