I have served on a cannon crew and was trained in the PROPER way to load and fire said cannon. Believe it or not, there is one right way of doing it. Because of the serious danger inherent in this activity, all who do it at any sanctioned event must follow the prescribed, accepted safe procedure. It doesn't matter if there is a pack of doddering wombles fartarseing with a camera who presume to know everything there is to know about loading and firing a cannon, the procedure is followed exactly by the numbers if any powder or projectile is involved. When you see a video where there are obvious violations of these established rules you are left with the idea that one of two things has happened. Either the crew on the gun does not know what they are doing or the pack of doddering wombles fartarseing with the camera has shot the scenes out of sequence or the pack of doddering wombles fartarseing with the editing has cut the scenes so that they are out of sequence. Or there is a third and equally likely possibiliby and that is that a pack of untrained doddering wombles fartarseing with the gun are not following established procedures for loading and firing a gun. In any case, what we see on this video has the appearance of being an extremely unsafe act.
My TOE to the neither regions of any doddering womble who knows less than nothing about the proper safe procedure for loading and firing of a cannon and yet would presume to instruct those of us who do know the accepted safe procedures and are able to recognize when what we see in a video appears to not be right. It is also blatantly obvious that we are able to recognize the fact that it could all be due to pack of doddering wombles fartarseing with the scenes such that things are out of sequence. :blah:
