I have had a Traditions Hawken Woodsman for 7 years now. Great out of the box, have not had to work on the lock at all. I did need to replace the nipple because it shattered early on (a chronic Traditions issue). I also had to put some lock-tite on the trigger adjustment screws because they were prone to loosening up. Accurate rifle, well built, easy to clean and care for. That being said, I don't believe you need any of the three rifles you mentioned. They are all close to what you already own. You need to branch out to a fowler or traditional style long rifle. Put your money in the piggy bank and let it grow until you can take the next step up.

I've got a Lyman Trade Rifle and a GPR, both bought new (recently) and an older TC New Englander and Renegade, bought used.

The overall fit and finish is noticeably better on the TCs - nicer wood, smoother metal polish, nicer bluing and better inletting.

Trigger pulls are comparable between the two single trigger guns (TR, NE) and the two double trigger guns (GPR, Rene). All are fine.

The GPR fits me the best and is the most comfortable to shoot, the TR is my least favorite in that regard - the stock swell slaps me in the face with moderate to heavy loads. The TCs have more modern stocks and are pretty comfortable to shoot.

They all shoot fine. I've had the best luck with the GPR, worst with the NE, but I'm not a great shot, so any issues are most likely my fault.

All are fun to shoot. I do like the more "authentic" styling of the Lyman guns.
