Drove a few hundred yards in through the woods on an old logger's road, spent a couple hours taking down a ladder stand and walking around the big oak ridge looking for a fresh spot to possibly set up this coming fall.
Got back to the truck and started slowly rolling back out towards the road...just as I was approaching the road, a big racked buck goes bursting out of the woods in front of me, across the road and covered a few hundred yards of a green field in seconds...hope he spread his genes well...LOL

Saturday in Va. my son was watching a small 4 point. Didnt want it so he wasnt paying real attention like he would do normally. Well what usually follows a small buck, you guessed it. One real big rack. Standing there watching him watch the little guy. One snort and he was gone. Good seed for next year.

That's always good to see at the end of the season. Our season in Tn. closed yesterday, so I put the feeder back out in the field next to my house to do a head count. Last Friday afternoon just before dark the Wife and I took a ride around the block which is 2.5 miles long x 3/4 of a mile wide,we saw over 30 deer in the fields. There is not much left for the deer to eat around here, the acorns are long gone and the honeysuckle & briars are bare up to head high. So i'm putting out corn and will be feeding some type of nutrition pellets as well. I told my Wife since the season is over (yesterday)it's time to start planning for next year.

My buddy got a big eight point on the game cam the other morning. Seasons over but the big guy made it through. Good for him.

I did see a heavy beamed big bodied buck in October during bow, wrong side of a fence at 25 yards. He was shoulder shot that day by another hunter but lived. As seen by trail cam. He was rubbing trees when I saw him that day he did not even run off the forkhorn near him. I am going to secure permission to hunt the other side of the fence so I have my 2 picked out for next year.
