    1865 to 1900?

I agree that many fine rifles were made during this time and it would be fun to read more about them. I have several that I shoot regularly and they are capable of fine accuracy.

    Need Help with Identification

I have shot a Potsdam in competition in the N-SSA for many years and have won probably 100 medals shooting it. The recoil is stout as with many large bore smoothbores but manageable if you are not recoil sensitive. They are a very serviceable musket if you take the time to learn to shoot it.

    Any Idea???

The crowned serpent on this pistol is similar to the unidentified escutcheon recovered from an early 18th century Indian village. They look similar enough to give me a place to look to identify it.

H Aston Model 42 .54 Cal Percussion Cap Single Shot Muzzleloading Pistol

We use these in competition in the N-SSA. I shoot mine with a bare ball coated in liquid alox .005 under bore size and 25 grains of Swiss 2F. It shoots very well.

    Early 1800's Fork

The sheet steel forks were available only after the Bessemer steel process made inexpensive steel available. Before that sheet manufactured forks did not have the strength, they were manufactured but uncommon and not popular. The pewter decorated tableware received a patent circa 1868.
