    Steel Bullet trap

Bet I could put a hole through it with my .30-06 unmentionable with armour piercing ammo. But that's not the purpose of it. I guess it would stand up to a .50 cal patched round ball from a flintlock. Looks like a nice trap. I want to build one similar to that when I get my welder from storage.

    mink oil

I use it and it works for me. I could give a rat's a** what's in it nor how it smells. What works well for me may not be yer cup o' tea!

I like the tractor seat installed on yer bench, BIGBEAR; looks quite comfy.

    Swiss shooters

I'm Swiss and I shoot! I am of Swiss decent and shoot GOEX. Guess I should switch to Swiss, lol. So yer talkin' 'bout powder and not people, huh? But the title does say, "Swiss shooters".

    Muzzloaders: March in Montana

    Nice video; enjoyed watchin' it.

    So, pictures of.....

Yep. It's basically the same as a small valley. The reason it's called a "holler" is 'cause ya can holler down to yer neighbor without using a phone.

Where's yer holler? I live in eastern TN, too and Ooooh Rahhhh, Semper Fi, Marine!

Suggestions for ball and patch size

You will find that yer load workup fer yer rifle may NOT be what others' loads will be. Fer my Pedersoli .50 flintlock my best load is 90 grains of FFg over a pillow tickin' patched .490 ball lubed with mink tallow from TOTW (Track of the Wolf). If using FFFg I only use 60 grains of BP. Both...

Looking for something a bit better....

Howdy, Ozz, welcome to the forum from eastern Tennessee. I'm assuming that you must be a wizzard?! I have a Pedersoli flintlock .50 cal that I got from Cabelas. It was in my price range and am happy I got it. It's a great shooter. I got the frontier or blue ridge model.

Howdy and welcome from eastern Tennessee.

How fast does a 50 cal PRB need to be for deer?

My accuracy load for my .50 cal Pedersoli is 90 grains of FFg over a pillow tickin' patched .490 round ball using mink tallow lube. Shoots like no other!

    Slings for flintlock

So you guys use a sling to carry the rifle? That is not what I was taught in the USMC. The sling is used for shooting not for carrying yer weapon. I was taught to use a hasty sling when shooting any rifle and all my rifles have slings on them except for my flintlock. I had thought about...

    The Alamo cannon

Howdy Gunny, Thanks for posting the link for the 16 pounder. When I went to the Alamo back during the 70's (on my way to Vietnam) there weren't any guns even anywhere near the Alamo. Semper Fi, Marine!
