What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I made my CVA Mountain Rifle double set trigger a single by taking the rear trigger off and drilling a new hole for the front trigger pivot pin further back: AND TO SHOW HOW THE TRIGGER LOOKS NOW IN THE RIFLE:

    Gardening ..again

I had to mow the back yard today. The neighbor mowed his two days ago and said it was pretty tough going, so I decided i had better get to it. Then I looked at the raised beds and the weeds starting up so got the hoe out and worked them over. Finally I still had some lawn seed left over from...

WANTED All the lead seems to have disappeared :(

My last 50 pounds of lead I went to a local junk yard, they had various batches of lead from different sources, What I got was old drain pipes for $1 per pound. They gave me extra to make up for the dried up crud in them.

    Which Rifle?

Well, it's 3/4 of a year since the original post so it would be interesting to know what the OP ended up with! If he's still looking, the Traditions kit comes from Spain and is the same as CVA used to sell. I have a CVA Mountain Rifle I built from a kit and have modified over the years...

    .36 Colt Navy that powerful??????

I think that the comparison is with the .38 S&W, not the .38 Special. The U.S. Army found that the former was not enough to stop crazed Filipinos and so went to the .45. The .38 Special (also known as the .38 S&W Special and .38 Colt Special) is an entirely different beast. That said, i...

SOLD Custom .40 Fullstock Flintlock Rifle

Interesting rear sight, drilled down like that. Same as the sight on the percussion rifle you have for sale. Are they from the same maker maybe?

CLOSED Numrich Arms Hopkins and Allen under hammer trigger and pins

Pecatonica River (http://longrifles-pr.com/underhammer.shtml) has an underhammer kit similar to the H&R, you might call them. Otherwise try Deer Creek (https://www.deercreekproducts.net/). Call them up, they don't seem to answer email requests for what they have stashed away.

    A muzzle loading assault rifle

My folks were POWs in Indonesia (then the Dutch East Indies), somehow ended up in a camp for families where I was born during WW2. Dad had been teaching in the medical school when the Japanese invaded, and they put him to work with a Japanese professor, trying to restore some of the scientific...

What kind of stuff do you all read?

$8.00 + $4.50 shipping: https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=9559949962&searchurl=sortby%3D17%26tn%3D%2522The%2BOld%2BNorth%2BWest%2522&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title4 But, the OP said what he read was from 1930 so I'm not sure this is the same book.

    barrel reboring

It was pre-Covid, but Bobby Hoyt bored & rifled a couple of barrels for me at IIRC, $135 each. One he did he was going to freshen, but the rifling was a left hand twist and he couldn't do that so bored it out from .50 to .54. That was a T-C Pennsylvania Hunter with the reverse twist. ~Kees~
