    Kibler lock In Chambers fowler?

The Chambers lock has been getting it done several decades before the Kibler came into being. I have round faced english and virginia locks an trust them 100%. I personaly think you would be wasting time changing them

    1f for 12ga

Ive shot 1F in my 12 ga guns for many yrs with excellent results an many turkey kills. I get better patterns no matter if im loading for turkey or smaller game. Its a tad dirtier but you got to clean it anyway so what does it matter. As a general rule that I go by if i were going to load 80 FFg...

Loading down for a .62 flinter

Ive shot 62 cal rifles for years. Ive killed a bunch of deer with them. My standard load is 80 gns. Its accurate an has all the power I need as my shots are all close range. 50 yards or less in very thick cover. I dont shoot 62s for power. I shoot 62s for the big blood leaking holes they give...

    L&R Locks

Ive never personally owned a L&R an never will. Ive read enough bad things on many different forums an knowing my luck I would get the worst one ever to ship out the door. The only way I would use a L&R lock is if I absolutely had to. Since you need a back action you may have to so I would have...

    Let’s see some patterns

12 ga 32 inch colerain oct to round barrel thats been jug choked Xfull by Danny Caywood. 1st target is 15 yds an the big holes is 700 ball. I favor shooting big shot at longbeards so my shot is a equal mix of 2 an 4. Im also a big fan of Fg in big bore smoothbores. The 2nd target is 30 yds...

Lest we forget V.M. Starr's shotgun wisdom

I bought his book when I was 15 an still have it. I had just got a 12 ga percussion double in a trade out firewood cutting labor for the gun. Im 61 now an Followed his teachings an discovered real fast he knew what he was talking about. Im a huge fan of Fg in the big smoothbores an I owe all my...

Barrels by Rayl, Getz, or Colerain

Colerain is still in business. Great barrels. Rayl I dont know about. I have tried to get a barrel from him an have never been able to get him by phone. Getz is run by John an I hear you can only get a barrel from him if your lucky. Ive got an really like Burton barrels but im told he would...

A Lefty Caywood / Roby Northwest Gun

I have several of the Caywood locks on different guns. Great sparkers an fast as any lock out there. The one an only negative thing I can see about Caywood locks is he is a one man operation an springs should you ever need one might be hard to get one day. If your gonna keep the gun I would...

Fowler versus sighted smoothbore barrel question

Go with the back sight an get it jug choked. I wont have a smoothbore without sights an jug. TIghter rounder patterns an shoots balls accurately. You can always take the back sight off if a shoot somewhere requires it.
