A New Report on my .50 cal Lancaster w/pictures

Just for the record, you need to move the decimal point over one on your patch thickness..18 is nearly 3/16. .018 would be right. Just in case you want to get more material.

lyman gpr double loaded, what now?

I have done that a few times myself, and will most likely do it again. Shoot it out making sure it is seated all the way to the breech. I doubt if the second charge will even ignite.

    Gun Cleaning---AGAIN!!

I also have been using RIG grease with very good results. The last gun show I went to no longer had the grease, but now has RIG liquid. I don't know if the formula is the same, but I am now using it with good results so far.

    California muzzle loader question

I just ordered and received a Knight inline for a friend of mine from Midway. It was here in 3 days through UPS. Some suppliers will not ship to California by their choice, not by the law. Liability and all that manure.

    Muzzleloading for dummies

Has anyone ever actually seen any proof of anyone injured from blowing down a barrel, or is it as I believe just a bunch of gossip that took off and became fact. I have been doing it for over forty years, and see no reason not to.

    Smithsonian Hawken

according to the museum of the fur trade, there are no original hawkin rifles in flintlock. the one at the smithsonian is a converted flinter, so they did make them, but none are to be seen yet today.

    windage

It's a smoothbore. I tried cutting down a fishing mould, but it still was too big, and the guy who made the barrel now only makes them with a 1.75 bore, so doesn't offer a mould that size anymore.

    windage

I have a cannon with a 1.687 bore. It is for golf balls, but a bit too small for one pound fishing weights. Cannon Mike has a mold for 1.587. Would this be too small? Should I stick with the 1/40 th rule? He still hasn't answered my Email, so I thought I would ask the real experts.

    Berrel cleaning help

In over 40 years of shooting and cleaning muzzle loaders, the best thing I have found for preventing rust is RIG (rust inhibiting grease)developed by the military years ago.
