    I teach hunter safety and gun safety. We teach to use a shotgun and aim for the face area. A shotgun will be less likely to penetrate a wall and hurt someone on the other side - or outside of a house, or a neighbor house. Any kind of shotgun load to the face/head will do serious damage...

    Can’t find a rifle!

    I' I've taken a lot of elk including a 7 x 7 with a 50 caliber T/C Hawkin. You don't really need a 54 caliber. I'd find a 50 caliber and learn to shoot it well.
