    Grease hole

One of my 45's has one. Haven't decided if I am ever gonna use it for it's intended purpose though. I'd want an awful stiff recipe for the summer months, then have to scrape it out for the winter,

    Who can relate

I see nothing wrong with that bench...Looks very similar to mine... Now where'd I put that set of calipers...?

Mike Beliveau injured in fall, doing OK.

Dang. I always enjoy his videos. That must have been one heck of a fall given the extent of his injuries, He'll be out of the shooting for a bit till that heals up right. Hopefully he'll be able to subject vids on other aspects of our obsession, err, I mean hobby, in the mean time while he is...

    Greetings from the high desert.

Welcome from Iowa. The "High Desert"? Art Bell? Coast To Coast AM? That sort of High Desert?

    Gunbroker Unscrupulous Sellers

I have had pretty good luck on Gun Broker. I knew exactly what I was looking for and/or I asked pertinent questions and got satisfactory answers before I bid though. Some folks are "Pickers" and the like - they go to Estate sales and grab a bunch of stuff and when it comes these sorts of...

    Gun Lost :’(

They're all kind of broken, USPS especially after their last re-org. Latest debacle was an order from Midway USA. It went to St. Louis. OK but Kansas City would have made more sense. Then it went up to the Quad Cities. Then for some odd reason they sent it to Roanoke, VA; where I was born; 1000...

    My balls are wrinkly ;)

Hot mold, hot lead, and pour it in as fast as it will take it. If you trickle it in you can get wrinkles and worse yet, voids.

    FlinterNick got her done!

Sent the lock from my "Frankenrifle" to FlinterNick to get it tuned up / fixed. It had a number of issues. He did identify it as an old Jukar. Then he went to town on it. Tumbler, sear, main spring, and that frizzen, all needed tweaking and or repair/replacement. Just got it back this morning...

    bluing or browning welded metal

More often than not the filler material (rod, mig wire...) is different than the base metal. So the welded area quite possibly will react differently to your blue/brown process. Even with matched material the weld and "heat affected zone" will have variable density and hardness compared to the...

What kind of stuff do you all read?

While I will occasionally grab an historical non-fiction or a reference for one of my many hobbies, I primarily enjoy SciFi and Epic Fantasy. In the past few years my "Library" has switched to being mostly audio books that I listen to at work.

    Tow Alternatives

The baling twine around here is mostly Jute, or used to be when I tossed those damn things! Look for jute twine in the craft section or just go to a craft store like Hobby Lobby. They'll have some. Might even be colored green or red or blue! Great tinder for fire starting and seems to work...

    Yakut knife

I like it! Always had an affinity for Puuko / Mora type blades (I'm of Swedish decent, what can I say...?) I've "convexed" a few of those. This blade, while from a somewhat similar culture, is something different. Might have to look into getting one of those.
