This is news to me, and GOOD news it is! I'll look into their outfit. Thank you for the info!

Muzzleloading shops and ranges in Huntsville, AL?

I'm in Huntsville. You're pretty much out of luck. There's a nice private range at Hobbs Island, but they don't like black powder. So that's out too. Skyline shooting range is about 50 minutes away and isn't too bad for a state ran public range. Holler when you get here if I can help ya out!

    .54 rifled bore pitting

JB Bore Paste will have your arm fall off before you remove any pitting bad enough that it's easily visible. It's just not aggressive enough, it's made for CLEANING after all. Get actual lapping compound if you're going through the trouble. Wheeler Engineering sells some. I have a grit...

Ramrod ends - Steel or Wood?

If steel on steel will spark, we would probably be shooting steel-locks and not flintlocks. Wouldn't that be convenient? Surely someone would have figured that out before they figured out caps 🤔 My guns get a tapered tip on the ramrod hole end (always iron) for attaching whatnots, and bare wood...

    .36 Caliber Fans?

Man, I really like my .36 southern mountain rifle. Easy on powder, easy to carry, plenty of power for any kind of small game or varmints and mine is very accurate. I've never had a fouling problem that I'd say is any different than any other caliber. I don't use any fancy lubes, just spit cmost...

Two vent holes?? Whats up here?

My mom says the same about me.

Two vent holes?? Whats up here?

Never seen that myself. And it probably doesn't make any difference in any practical use. But if one hole ever gets plugged, hey you still got another that might not be? I'd be glad to have it, it's a neat little unique detail. Just because it's different doesn't mean anyone has to claim it's...

    L&R Lock Company

My one experience with an L&R lock was on an old gun that I bought that was unfired. The mainspring was weak, and i contacted them to buy a new spring. They offered to fix it for free, and said it had an old cast spring and they have since been updated. I got the spring from them and fixed it...

    .32 Kibler Help!

There was a fella at the Alabama show earlier this month, that had a bunch of Kibler finished southern rifles for sale. He had some of them shortened and they looked quite nice, but I didn't shoulder them up. This is of absolutely no help, but I thought id mention it anyway lol

Sight setup on your squirrel/deer rifles?

I appreciate all the tips fellas, some real good info y'all put out there. @Bob McBride those shades look slick! I've got a couple old airguns with globe front sights that work great with a rear peep, it would be killer to have a similar setup on a squirrel gun! @Spikebuck interesting and...
