the breech plug is not from this barrel, close to the right diameter but wrong threads. I think it must have been around and either the original owner or somebody just put in with the barrel withssome other parts. Bolster was removed but nothing done to the breech as there are no marks on it...
LD,
I appreciate the photos you posted as I am color blind and I cannot make out any details as everything just blends together.
Barrel has a good clean bore or I wouldn't care that much about it and hate to dump a .54 since most of my rifles are in that caliber. It is good to know that I...
Sorry, no pics available as I have 3 digital cameras but none work and a track phone without a camera. Unless I can get some one over to take them.
Thanks,

I got a small lot of parts that came with the barrel and one is a bolster that is threaded behind the drum with a large threaded portion and then the oposite end is cut down and is threaded in a smaller size. This bolster doesn't fit in the threads in the hole in the barrel and the barrel...
A friend of mine gave me a CVA Mountain Rifle Barrel in .54 caliber and the bolster has been removed. I'd like to salvage it if possible so is it possible to have a bolster put in it or convert it to flint or is it just junk and drop in with the scrap? I guess the back could be cut off to...

The Bobcat is a pretty simple rifle without...
I am looking to buy a Thompson Center Percussion Hammer for a Hawken,Renegade or others of the large lock type. New type is better but not picky if it is older or newer. PM if you have one to sell or post here.
Thanks,

I recently did a search on the subject of fixing crooked screw holes but only got information on stripped screw holes and cracked or broken stocks. So anyone have a ny ideas on fixing screws holes that were drilled at odd angles in kit built guns? I got two stocks with this problem with...
A friend of mine picked up a T/C New Englander with a missing hammer and asked if I had one. I said I had a complete T/C Hawken/Renegade lock. I took the lock over and it fit right in the mortise with no problems. Problem was that the lock would not hold half cock. The new Englander has a single...
No luck yet. I tried using the .22 caliber cleaning brush as I had one on hand but the patch is really packed in there and all I managed to do was bend the brush. My father burned up my compressor and never made good on replacing it. I did go to the gas station across the road but somebody stole...
I just bought a CVA percussion barrel at a show and everything looked fine hen I dropped a bore light down it but when I got home and wanted to run a patch through it, I felt something at the bottom of the bore in that small channel that runs through the breech plug. I kind of figured it was a...
