    What Makes a "Better" Component?

The only real problem I’ve personally experienced with less expensive rifles is if they’re flintlocks. A poor performing lock is frustrating. But if they’re percussion it’s usually not a problem. The Traditions Deer Hunter percussion that I gave to my granddaughter is extremely accurate and fun...

    Gardening ..again

I did run the soaker hose(s). Was really no big deal. I’ve already moved them a little since the photos. Will probably move them around some more since I have plenty up around the tomatoes. I thought about burying them a little, but not for now. I’ve used soaker hoses before years ago, I seem to...

    Gardening ..again

Mine won’t be anything fancy. I’ve got two 50’ lengths of soaker hose, which I figured would be enough to double loop the beds. Don’t even plan to bury them. As soon as I get the energy today I’ll try putting them out.

    Hawken

Not no, but hell no. I would like to have an accurate reproduction, something better than my Investarms Gemmer, but I'll wait for Jim to put one out since it's supposed to be next on the list.

    Gardening ..again

Drove back home today and was pleased with how much the garden had grown in little over a week. While I’m home I’m going to install a soaker hose that will loop around both sides of the plants and beds. I’ve heard were in for another very hot and very dry summer. We’ll see.

    What Makes a "Better" Component?

I’d say overall quality control and quality steel. But I really don’t know either. I’m sure we’ll find out.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Thanks. And what I did to the trigger took care of all the problems. If you don’t have a welder you could braze another piece on or find a good welding shop close by, then shape it as needed.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Got the Pedersoli Kentucky .50 pistol remake back together. I guess it looks better, looks different anyway. There’s a couple of before photos that show the unsealed pores in the stock and some carving that didn’t fit the bill. I had already tuned this pistol up a couple of years ago. I didn’t...
