    Pedersoli 1795 Springfield musket

I have read that 1766 French Charleville musket was used as the foundation to design the 1795 Springfield. I would also like to hear any reviews on this musket. Mike Beliveau Did a nice review of the pedersoli 1766.

    Snapping matchlock

Absolutely beautiful work! I would guess that the shape of the stock must shoulder very well and get your eye down low to the barrel to aim? I am hoping that with some of these incredible builds going on here that perhaps some custom matchlock builders will emerge that would build for us who...

    75 cal hand gonne

I believe the barrel was a one off he put up for sale on his website. Came to me with a socket for a tiller that I cut off so it could be fitted into this stock I made. I believe he’ll make any type of cannon or gonne you would like. He is a pleasure to deal with. I really like his breach...

    75 cal hand gonne

The 100 grains of powder was recommended by the barrel maker. Makes for a nice photo with a big fun fireball. Not all gonnes had spikes on them and I put the face on the front because I like it and for no other reason. Put 20 grains behind the 75 cal ball and the powder may completely burn but...

Matchlock & Primitive Gonne Safety Practices

The lit end goes into the smaller half while the rest goes in to the larger compartment. A sheet of brass with a v cut in the top separates the two sides and the match is pressed into the v. The brass wall keeps the lit side separate from the longer unlit side.

Matchlock & Primitive Gonne Safety Practices

Here are two match cord safes that I made from a couple of old fireplace wood match holders. The idea was to make a match cord safe that could : Be worn on the hip, slow the burn rate thus preserving the cord longer ,. Accommodate different lengths of match cord, be easy to insert and remove...

    75 cal hand gonne

Teleloceras, Thanks. The bore is drilled straight through. The gonne weighs in at about 13 lbs. So it is more of a bench rest affair. Accuracy testing. Well I did hit in the vincinity of the target at 50 yards. Need to practice. The grotesque face on the front is to frighten enemies and missed...
