    Simon Kenton?

This is an interesting thread. I've owned over 10 original antique Ohio rifles and every one was coned. In fact, my favorite ".45" deer rifle used a .429 ball with pillow ticking patch and my favorite "'32" shot a .289 w/pillow ticking.. All are 19th century guns. My question isn't when...

    Hey from Ohio, for now....

Welcome from Alaska. I grew up in Jackson, OH and return every spring to bug for bluegill and bass before king salmon season opens up here. Also return for DEER hunting in the fall. Killed several with a an original Jackson county .43 rifle. You can get powder at Log Cabin Shop in Lodi.

    Ramrod help

I always have an extra 4" sticking out. Easier to grab. Also acts as a bumper or fender. I've broken off several rr tips but my muzzle and front sight always always survived unharmed and nothing got stuck in the muzzle if I tripped or pulled some other old fart stunt!

While not near Canfield, it sounds like you are describing the Gun Room in the old historical Lafeyette Hotel in Marietta.

    Capper anyone ?

I ordered a Polish Capper on September 12th and got it yesterday up here in Alaska, It is an impressive capper. Looking forward to using it on Remington revolver. Purchasing w/CC was easy from the website. However, I woke up this am to find my CC on hold. There were 2 charges to Duetcsh Bank...

    Alaska People?

I'm in Homer. First gun I saw go off was my father shooting a muzzle loader at dusk. The flame was really impressive to a kid sitting in the back of a '49 Hudson.

    Flying with a Muzzleloader

I have duffels made that my gun case will fit in. I do the same for my fish boxes coming out of Alaska. I had a friend who lost 100# of halibut and salmon. It's harder for baggage handlers to recognize my gun case when in a duffel. Handgun cases are always in luggage. For Rifle cases travel...

Dry balled my .32 Kibler, with my solution

When my ball puller won't do the job I pour gun oil down the barrel and let it soak. After a 10 minute soak puller always works for me.

Lowest range temperature you have entered a match?

-17 F was the coldest I've shot a match in. This year it was -1F but warmed up to the 20F. I always kept my loading block tucked inside my coat when its that cold.

    Seating the ball

I was taught many years ago by my father to bounce the ramrod. I noticed that after seating the ball I raise the ramrod up about 4 inches and drop it. I never throw it. I belive this process is easier on the ball than the short starter process. I intend to continue rod bouncing. Every time...
