"Tap" and 'gentle' are good words to use on such a repair!

    Adams Revolver Announcement

I see on the Cap & Ball Revolvers Only site, which I recently discovered, that the Buffalo Bill Shooting Store in Sanford, FL, is the distributor for a new repro Adams revolver in .44 and future .50 cal. A group called ARSA was mentioned, I don't know what that is?? This could cause some...

Pro Libertate’s New Pedersoli Brown Bess Carbine

Nice! I don't think it's cost effective for them to worry about what type cleaning jag guys will want to use. That's a nice looking carbine!

Should be easy fix for a 'smith familiar with such things!

Hawken Rifles, What's All The Hoopla?!

IDK, I guess it's just the sleek simplicity of the final development of the percussion cap design. I have an old Uberti and a Lyman GPR and like the caliber (mine's .54). I think the scholarship offered by Bob Fill and others has had a lot to do with the popularity.

    Muzzleloading Long Rifle Identification

Is 72" the over all length? Some old fowlers had 5 foot barrels. Interesting.

    Fess Parker Recalled d.2010

Fess Parker died in 2010. Here is a remembrance of him that appeared in the NY Times, written by Verlyn Klinkenborg. "I don't remember a single episode of "Davy Crockett" nor did I own a coonskin cap. As for the famous theme song, it tends to wander away on it's own, erratically, once it gets...

WITHDRAWN The Hawken Rifle by Bob Woodfill

Yo, order right from the NMLRA; although I do note you want a used copy to save money; always a good idea! When I ordered mine, my search showed a true-looking site that had it for $100!! I knew the price was $50, and wound up getting it from the NMLRA all OK, I'm just warning that there was a...

    Belly Box

A sharp flint falling on a finger near a touch hole would be similar to the old Garand "M-1 Thumb!"

    Belly Box

Cool! Belly boxes are one of the easiest things to make, and can be customized to no end. (Excluding re-enacting stuff!)

    Hi from East Africa

"Fully independent"? You must have missed the guys on here bemoaning lack of Caps, Lead and Black Powder! 🙂

Are cap rakes really necessary or a solution in search of any real problem ?

Imagine in the heat & humidity of, say, July 1-3rd, 1863, the mess around caps & black powder at Gettysburg! Ugh!
