    I was able to put 57 rounds through my new Gemmer Hawken .50 percussion. Great shooting gun ! Fit and finish from factory not impressed , but I can improve on that next winter. No regrets.

    Wont lock without setting trigger

    I just fixed this same issue on an older rifle that I bought a couple of weeks ago. On mine the problem was solved by shimming the trigger assembly down slightly. It works perfectly now.

    I have a .45 cal Hawken Rifle Kit still in its box receipt says december of 1976.

    There is definitely a market for that , but I would leave it as is and hang on to it . Value will only go up in original box.
