    Simon Kenton?

Having used Flint-guns for some 40 odd years, I know of NO "grit" that many speak of. I routinely clean and oil my wooden "ramrod" Ps. They were called "wiping sticks or wipers" in the day. Just saying.

I have never got in into naming guns. To me they are a tool. Ive thought on it alot though.

    Period Correct or Personality Appealing?

N'yaway Griz. I am honored. I try. I fail alot. I keep trying ^^ Like Tenn said, even the hardest core historian, can really get only so close. But its that pursuit that i gain great pleasure in. Everyone has a threshold. Whether its depth of vision or monetary, there comes a point...

    Period Correct or Personality Appealing?

My purposes are to escape from the modern world. It pleases me to have the skills to function using only the techniques that were available in a time past. I enjoy the connection to a different world, and the company of other with a like mind. There is a certain comfort in the simplicity and...

    Stuck ball in Hawkin Rifle

You are very welcome. I do hope the information helps. Worked like magic. Even though i carry the modern range rod, it would not have helped me in the situation i described. The ball was so incredibly stuck. ( Put the sprue in wrong ) it was the slide hammer that actually did it...

    Stuck ball in Hawkin Rifle

Had a stuck ball in a rifle once. Broke 3 rods trying to pull it in every conceivable manner. Took it home and screwed in an aluminum range rod and put a slide hammer on it. (the kind you use for pulling dents) it popped right out like nothing. it was the sudden shock not the force that did...

    Ballistol

Ive been putting off comment on this, But .... well. Ive used WD-40 on all my firearms for Lord knows how long. Ive never had an issue with it hardening, nor do i have much issue with rust. Even here in Indiana and NC where humidity is 1000 % i dont have rust issues. Some of my stored...

    Daniel Boone's (Fess Parker) Rifle??

Ive done alot of movies and shows. Rubber guns are very very common. From early flintlocks to modern m-16s they have rubber replicas. In many movies, including such as "The Patriot" you can see rubber bayonets flopping around in the scenes. In many of the early period shows up thru the...

Hmmmmm, I never thought of that David. I spend alot of time in Indiana surrounded by corn and soy fields. Come to think of it... i dont think i have EVER seen a honey bee. Lots of wasps. This is not a good thing.
