Why no black powder hunting personalities

I’ve enjoyed cap and ball. Fellows out of Hungary I believe. He doesn’t hunt a lot but it’s enjoyable to me when he does. The history and technical stuff makes me want a whole room of different rifles to try though. There are obviously others that I like but I noticed he wasn’t mentioned

    Lyman Trade Rifle opinions

I had one of the guns that forced the recall. I was actually disappointed when they gave me a refund instead of repairing it. It shot excellent for me and I’ll probably by another. I honestly liked it better than the tc I currently own. Granted I’ve only owned the two but I was content with...

    Non-Availability of Imports From Italy

I had an issue with Lyman once and I got the impression that they just placed a big order and when it ran out that was it for a while. There was never a constant flow of goods even before Covid which is why they gave me a refund for my problem instead of sending what I needed. So any delay on...

    7/8 & 15/16 barrel cut-offs

I don’t have what you need but that’s a good idea.

    Maple or walnut

I did that. I also installed two pins from the top of the stock and glued those in place. I believe it’ll hold I just wanted to do it “just cause”. I’d still like to know everyone’s preference on the wood. The rifles not going anywhere so I would still like to do it to make it fit me better

    Maple or walnut

The stock on my tc cracked in front of the lock. Although I made a seemingly suitable repair, I’m going to order a replacement from TOTW. I’ve done some reading but can’t really tell if ones better than the other as far as strength and workability. I would like to build a kit rifle eventually...

    Leather nipple protector as safety

I use a valve stem cover, ( just like daniel Boone :),but it was more for moisture protection. Works well though.

    Help from Flintlock hunting experts

Why not search around for a used TC flinter?

    T/C hawken

I recently got one myself. I was a little concerned how it would shoot with a ball with such shallow rifling but I was pleasantly surprised. 85 gr. Goex 2f with a 490 ball and .015 patch shoots better than I do at 100 yards.

    T/C Hawken accuracy

It's a 50. Supposed to be in as new condition. I'm already debating buying other models and calibers in they're line up based on there price and reputation. Although the more period correct flinter bites starting to itch pretty bad and I'm wondering what I've done got myself into

    T/C Hawken accuracy

That's good shooting. I have a TC Hawkens in transit to my house right now, can't hardly wait to try it out.

    LYMAN MUZZLELOADER RECALL

That's exactly what happened to mine. They made me send the whole rifle in and I received full refund. I see now that they are offering to fix the affected barrels. Wished they would have just fixed mine as it was my only ml. I have the money to get something a little nicer but I'm having a hard...

    lyman question

I suppose it could always be a possibility but I don't think so. i was actually trying out a slightly thicker patch and using my wooden ram rod to see how it would do in the field,so I was paying attention to see how it loaded. It was also the first shot of the day so I don't see how I would...

    lyman question

Well, I tried loading pictures but couldn't for some reason. Wasn't much to see. Didn't even realize it happened till after the shot. Only when I moved the gun off the bench to reload I noticed everything was jiggly :) Broke clean in two about 1/8 inside the bore. Sent the gun back to Lyman...

    lyman question

I will say just this morning I had a breech plug failure on my trade rifle. 90 grains of 2f, 535 rb. Only had it about a month, although I put maybe 150 rounds through it. i tried a 530 ball last time out and never could get it to group good so I'm guessing that may have had something to do with...
