    Nipple wrench help

Great job! That is the best way to go. Really simple if one have a needle file and some junk/old socket. There is an interesting video about DIY one here : homemade nipple wrench Here is mine, with a 5mm old socket, glued in a hazel branch. If you have some gunsmith screwdriver tips, that's a...

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

Hello Crypt0manic. I'm not an expert by any means, but you may try to insert a screw in the lead ball and remove it by pulling on the screw with some plyers? If you don't know these YT channels, you will find a bunch of great advices and how-to about BP revolvers here : Mike Beliveau Blackie...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

I received an answer from Perdersoli: Like everybody knows, if it's in a movie, it's reality, isn't it? Too bad the question wasn't transfered to a technical member/engineer... I guess the engineers are on muzzleloadingforum.

    Hello everyone

Oh, I'm 32 Cal, would prefer to be 31 Cal! I like very much my Pocket Remington. It's a very fun gun to shoot, simple and quite accurate once modified a bit... and I think it is sometimes underestimated... But, in reality, I'm using .323 conical bullets for it, so it is in fact 32... ok that's fine!

    Hello everyone

Thanks to everyone! it's a very pleasant welcome! BP Maniac Shooter, I watch your videos and I like your style a lot! Thanks! D.Summers, do you mean the Sac and Fox Nation?... No, not at all, pure coincidence...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Back, after being busy at work, I read your instructions carefully, Wildrangeringreen. If I understand what you wrote, the cartridge should look like that? (obviously, there is no scale at all, it's just for the general "design"...) If yes, do you glue the shot cylinder on the powder cylinder...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Wildrangeringreen, thank you for posting such a detailled answer, much appreciated, that's very very interesting. I have to read it a couple of times more to really see what you mean (!), but Kudos to you ! By any chance, do you have a picture of one complete cartridge to see what it looks...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Thanks Tenngun! I thought that the ignition would hit the powder on the side, but if I understand correctly, there is a turn, for the ignition to hit the charge at the very base? Well, I guess my question has its answers!

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Ok then. Thanks for your answer, Britsmoothy. I found an exploded view of the pistol, but of course, there's no view of the inside of the barrels...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Thanks Britsmoothy. Do you mean that the loose powder has to enter a channel to be closer to the nipple?... Without that the spark of the cap would not reach the powder? Sorry, I must not say that correctly, hope you see what I mean... I just sent a message to Perdersoli to ask them about this...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Thanks Grenadier1758, I'm sorry but this is not what I'm talking about... I don’t think about classic ML paper cartridge that you tear off to load, but the cartridge you insert in the cylinder of a C&B revolver and push down with a press or with the gun's lever. Maybe my explanation is a bit...

    Howdah you make paper cartridges?

Hello everyone. Hope I'm posting in the right category. Simple curiosity about one pistol and paper cartridges for it. And sorry for the stupid question, but you know, if you don’t ask, you don’t learn. And I am on a learning curve, about BP. The Perdersoli Howdah 20 gauge looks like an...

    Hello everyone

Hello everyone. Relatively new to the world of Black Powder, for now I shoot with a 1858 .44 Remington and a 1863 .31 Remington, all by Pietta. Something tells me that I may end up with more toys. Being newbie, I don't have much to say, but I have a question to ask, so I decided to register...
