Do you recognize this maker ?

I got this hatchet / camp ax in Tennessee and I’m trying to find any information on it. Haven’t had any luck yet. The mark is hard to make out but maybe Alba ?

    Green River Knives

Wow time flies by. Got home from Tennessee and started getting things ready for winter. I’m a beekeeper so they needed attention too. Full disclosure I’m 69 years young :) Grew up on a small New England farm and built my home on a piece of it. The butcher knife with tire tread pattern has no...

    Green River Knives

Thank you very much for your input Bob ! Sorry for the late reply. I'm currently in Tennessee visiting my daughter but I'll get some better photos when I get home. All the knives shown were left to me from my uncle. He kept them in his gun safe along with quite a few more. His brother in law (my...

    Green River Knives

I have several of these Green River knives made by Russel Harrington in Southbridge MA. These particular knives were in my uncles home and were left to me when he passed. I'm trying to date them. The one with the string wrap I remember as a kid on the farm. It has a tapered full tang so I'm...

When I was a kid growing up on our family farm all we had was right handed bolt action rifles. Yes got very used to reaching across and cycling that action.

    Left handed shooting right handed

Thanks for the reply. Surely if I get to build a rifle it will be left hand. Yes I've always worn eye protection because I feared cap fragments coming my way.

    Left handed shooting right handed

I'm curious if anyone else is a lefty but shooting right hand guns. When I bought mine 30 odd years ago the gun shops didn't get left handed guns very often so both of my Thompson Centers are right handed. I just got used to reaching my thumb across to pull the hammer back. I've got to think...

A couple things I've forged lately

I mentioned in a post I made that I've done some forging so I thought I'd post a picture of a few things. Chopper/camp knife is 1084 steel as is the the integral guard hunter. Bottle opener is from a 1/2-13 x 5" 304 SS bolt.
