    Springfield maybe?

I suspect a parts gun, it looks like a later trapdoor lock plate, maybe a trapdoor Springfield stock with a muzzle loading barrel. https://www.ssfirearms.com/proddetail.asp?prod=W15534&cat=94

Ever let one go That you Should have Kept? (p1853 Enfield)

    Musket caps on Amazon.

'On a side note, I can shoot musket caps on my sidelock guns but does anyone make a nipple that allows shooting #11 caps on a musket?' I used to have one on a 2 band rifle, but I don't recall the brand. But they should be available.

Musket nipples fit on sporting type long guns?

I also use musket caps on several percussion sporting rifles, just get the correct thread size. Plus it's cheap enough to try out for the cost of a nipple.

    Swiss 38 cal. target rifle

38 caliber with 1-48 twist suggests its intended for round ball shooting not bullets. However if you wanted to try shooting bullets I'd start with getting a close measure of bore diameter using pin gauges, ordering several around .380...

TC Renegade 50 cal conical size??

.500, just at bore size, wiping between shots. 30-1 may be too hard to bump up to groove size when fired, 40-1 or softer may be better. The Greenhill formula suggests the 1-48 twist may require a lighter bullet than 400 grains. You might also check out the modern muzzleloader forum under...
