    Are we sure tapered touch hole liners are a good idea?

    way back in the early 70s, in the Dixie gun works catalog, they did a test, and showed that a flint gun produced greater velocity than a percussion gun. They said that as the projectile moved forward it sucked more oxygen in through the vent and caused a better burn of the powder.

    R Ellis is right. I’ve been sleeping for years, and there’s no way you can put a round sleeve in a round barrel and have it off center. All doubles are regulated to cross at a certain point.

    I understand what you mean by the 2” . You can even leave more if you want. There were some that were referred to as three quarter stocks.

    FOR SALE 24 bore smoothbore barrels

    They were made for Marlin, and the blanks are sold by gun parts. I have used them to build double barrel muzzleloaders. Very strong.

    Wrap it with wet rawhide, then let it dry. Traditional fix.

    I used a 36 for 20 years in competition, and won a lot. Never had a problem with fowling.

    White lightning touch hole in a Thompson Center, Hawken

    On a TC, the liner will not go into the bore, only in the chamber in the plug. White lightenings require a special tap, and you will need to drill into the chamber.
