Colt 1849 Pocket taller front sight fix

Have you considered lowering the rear sight? Making the v notch on the hammer a little deeper will also have the same effect as raising the front sight.

Colt 1849 Pocket taller front sight fix

I am still trying to figure out why y'all want to raise the front sight? Are your guns shooting really high or something?

Colt 1849 Pocket taller front sight fix

Easiest way to correct would require lots of range time to get your D.O.P.E. And learn your holdover/under at 25m Raising the front sight is going to lower the impact of the round. If it's shooting high at 25m then shoot at the bottom of its belly.

    Gun show prices

Tell ya what.... If you come and can't find a good deal on my table.... I'll refund your admission fees! We don't have 1990s prices, but we usually sell 15-30 antique firearms per show. Which is really high compared to other vendor's...so we must have them priced right!

I am very impressed at the eveness of the temperblue. It's very difficult to get such an even look without using a forge.

    Who Shoots Originals?

One of my guides in South Africa was partial to a Greener 10 bore.... not sure about the loads he was using but it would kill on both ends. The recoil was immense.

Question about value of pair of 58 Rems

I sold a used ASM for $240 at my last show. It was more used than yours so I wouldn't think $500 for the pair is outside the realm of possibility.

    The TC New Englander

I have 2 of them in .50 right now as consignment pieces... I try to like the round barrels, but aesthetically I just don't really care for them.

The Hawken pictured here. Nothing special but I wouldn't trade it for loving nor money.
