    I think the US load for 69 flint locks was 110 grains with some of that being the priming charge.

    Packrat I military style paper cartridges I use a 69 caliber round ball which is said to be the proper diameter.

    The Bess is .75 lots of room for fouling. I've shot a few paper cartridges but minute of man is about the best I've gotten at 50 yards. I usually charge the musket, drop a 715 or 735 round ball on the powder and use some wadding to hold the ball in place. I would have no problem hunting deer...

    I just looked at Cabelas and a New one can be had for $999. though you can't order it online. A used one I would think 650-750 in really nice shape. I'd ask at least that for the one I have.

    Graf’s Powder Quality?

    I’ve shot about 15# of it in my sharps rifle and it works fine. I dont shoot long range targets just informal steel shooting out to 300 yards. i Wonder if Grafs will work a deal with someone else now that goex is going away.
