    John Anson

Does anyone have contact information on cannon maker John Anson of upstate New York. I just took delivery of a half-scale breechloading swivel gun attributed to him. Supposedly this was a mock-up of the swivels on the recreated ship Half Moon and I would like to find out more. Thanks in advance!

    want to buy a matchlock

I have an early made John Buck Medieval matchlock that leaves we underwhelmed compared to my Jurgen Kreckle matchlock or a Leonard Day m/l musket. There was a builder out in Arizona that made a quality matchlock also, but I can't remember his name or find his website. Granted, I only know of...

    16 century powder flask

Sykes Sutlery offers a brass and leather priming flask @ $50.00. I bought my wood & brass flask from G Godwin, but I think it's been discontinued. http://sykesutler.home.att.net/musket2.htm

    1851 or 1860?

I've got some other points to ponder... Why don't you spend a little extra and get either an '51 or '60 made by Uberti that's cut for a detachable shoulder stock? Stocks run about $150.00 and you can also have a fun little 'carbine'. Stocks for the Model 1860 are a little easier to find than...

    15th Century Shooters' Pouch

Any forum members know of a leatherworker who has made a 15th century shooter's pouch as photographed in 'Powder and Ball Small Arms' by Pegler? Thanks in advance.

    Mowrey Rifles

I purchased a Texas Mowry off the classified ads here, (anyone remember them?) last year. Some of the screws were buggered and the rifle was missing a rammer pipe. Called Deer Creek and they had all the parts needed and at a reasonable cost.

Thinking About Purchasing This Rifle From TOTW Need Imput...

I agonized all weekend and bought it. Most forum members thought the same way I did and had the same reservations. If I don't like it I can return the unmolested rifle back to TOTW and it'll just cost me shipping.

Thinking About Purchasing This Rifle From TOTW Need Imput...

Everything but I...

    The matchlocks from dixieguns

The English/European Matchlock DGW used to offer (and G Godney Godwin too) was build by Jurgen Kreckle, a part-time gunbuilder in Penna. He was a fixture at Dixion's Gunmakers' Fair in Kempton PA for many years. He has retired from gunmaking and is now involved in fixing vintage cameras, he...

Traditions Springfield Hawken .50 cal Rifle $120.

I'm not really interested in buying one, but Sportman's Guide has Traditions Springfield Hawken .50 caliber percussion rifles with wooden stocks and a 1 in 48" twist barrel for $119.95 or $107.95 if you are a Buyers' Club member. Seems like a lot of gun for the money if you are interested in...
