    May 2021 Postal Match - 6 Shot

Shot mine today. Not sure which shot hit the ace first so judge can score however they wish. This offhand stuff is tough.

Aiming with one or both eyes

I relate it to driving in a drizzle without the wipers on. You have to look through the windshield not at the windshield.

Aiming with one or both eyes

My Dad always told us to keep both eyes open, rifle, shotgun, pistol, iron sights, or scope. I have a daughter that is right handed but left eye dominate so she shoots left handed, if she doesn't close her right eye she can't hit a barn standing inside of it. More than one way to skin a cat.

    Need some help....

My 9 year old daughter shoots a 32 cal. rifle. She won't shoot anything with noticable recoil. She shoots around 20 grains of 3f swiss powder and says it feels less than a light weight 22 long rifle.

Don’t sleep on the .50 PRB, Story and pic.

Well done! I went on a hog hunt with some friends about 12 years ago, we hunted with dogs, it was one of the most fun hunts I've ever had.

    Small bore questions

I'm just getting started with muzzleloaders and put together a crockett kit in 32 for my daughter and I purchased a 36 cal flintlock from a forum member here. We typically shoot 15-20 shots each when we shoot and don't swab either rifle between shots. I do think the 36 is easier to load and...

Do you carry a modern sidearm when hunting in addition to your muzzleloader?

I always carry period. It's just something you put on when you put your wallet in your pocket. We have a lot of Meth addicts where I live and the local law enforcement is usually at least 30 minutes away.

    First kit

Well it's not perfect but a 9 year old's attention span will only go so far. She did pretty much all the stock finishing and and the blueing with just me telling her how. It's a little nose heavy for her but she's at that age where they grow like wildfire so I figure she will be able to handle...

    First kit

I have two older kids, one boy and one girl, neither of them have any interest in hunting or fishing. This one likes hunting and shooting and building things so I try to keep her interested. We got the barrel and under rib blued today too but didn't get any pictures. A few more coats of finish...

    First kit

Blushing the iron nitrate. Wasn't sure how that would work on Beech but it is turning out to be a very nice color. She started singing "oh oh it's magic" as the color changed.
