    shotgun and roundball

I'm wondering if shot buffer around the ball would remove the need for a patch...

    shotgun and roundball

It's me again...I'm still hoping for feed back on ball diameter...I think I've got the rest figured out. Muzzle dia is close to .730 and the cheap moulds seem to go from .715 to .735 in one jump unless I've missed something somewhere...(no problem getting either diameter to fit in the brass and...

    shotgun and roundball

I wasn't upset at allo and yes, we should write with the novice in mind...you were right. Black powder takes up a lot of room of course and only requires one nitro/felt cushion/sabot and slug (didn't work well) and an opver shot card to take up all the space. I place a solid spacer on top of...

    shotgun and roundball

I use the MEc because there is a gage to measure the compression...adjustable too but I just read the gage till I achieve the poundage wanted. It is Magtech brass and they list the length as just under 2.5 inches...BTW I do know how to anneal the brass and have been loading metalics since the...

    shotgun and roundball

I'm not using a double. I am using a pump with 18 inch cylinder-bored smooth barrel and rifle sights. the muzzle mikes at .730 but the gun is chambered for 3" mags and I'm using 2.5" brass shells. It is my intention to load 11 gage nitro over powder cards with about 50 pounds of compression...

    shotgun and roundball

With appologies, I am searching for anyone's experience loading RB into brass shotshells. I am going to use black powder only. Nothing seems to fit right and I can't get (I feel) good ignition. My loads have been between 80 and 90 grains of goex Fg with sabot slugs (the mould I alread had) and...

    Williams receiver sights?

Someone makes a tang extension for such a sight...get it close to your eye. The top mounted sights are a bit too far away. What sort of muzzle loader do you shoot? I can keep a 2 inch groop (10 shots) in a retired garrison rifle with battle apeture sights...I like em

    ramrod damage

I once took a fiberglass rod and made a knife edge out of it and used it to cut a piece of steel into...nuff said

    54 cal ball making

The lead used in the stained glass I'm used to is soft...just remember to cut out the soldered joints as they will have other metals in them

    ramrod damage

I have a .54 with a Green River Rifle Works choked barrel from the 1970's. I have always used wooden ramrods and a hard stainless steel bench rod with bore guide at matches (easier on the hands) and It still shoots well...better than I can hold.
