    What makes a good patch knife?

    I like an Opinel #6 for cutting patches. It's small, light, and cheap. Sand it and stain it darker and it's a presentable little knife.

    Horrible accuracy after 3 shots

    Could try using using a moist patch as was mentioned. I use Mr Flintlock and never have to wipe the bore during a 40 shot match with my .36 caliber. Spit might be something to try too and it's free.

    Kibler's website lists the weights of the completed SMR in the different calibers. As far as caliber I have an old 36 caplock I really like so ordered my Kibler in the same caliber since I have the stuff I'll need to shoot it already and for what I do it fits the bill.
