Any thoughts on a replacement lock for the Pedersoli scout carbine percussion lock. Is there any that would fit without to much stock altering.

    Removing barrel pins

I just received my first muzzleloading kit. It is a Pedersoli scout carbine kit in 45 cal percussion. The gun is already together, but the stock still needs to be finished and there is some more work to be done on the stock for proper metal to wood finish. The nosepiece and barrel are both...

    Help a noob please

I would call the customer service number 1-866-730-1614 and advise them you need a manual and give them the serial number off the barrel. The .490 round ball is for a 50 cal barrel. If you do have a 50cal then try using .015 thick 100% cotton patch material to start with and start with 40 to 45...

I place a small amout of this solution on a flannel patch and swab the bore. I turn the rod a few time to get the breech clean and then follow...

Armas GIL 50 cal Hawken style info

Thanks for the input and info Zonie. The gun is in great shape. I cleaned the bore and had what appeared to be some brown residue on the patches. It took several patches of brake cleaner followed by Hopes #9 and alcohol, then eventually dry patches to get the bore clean (no more stains). I...

Armas GIL 50 cal Hawken style info

I just purchased a 50 cal percussion Hawken style rifle. I was looking for any information on this gun. I measured inside the bore with the ramrod and it comes out to 26 inches. Outside bore is 26.5 inches. It has brass forend cap, brass trigger guard, brass butt plate, casehardned lock. The...
