    carry a '51

Better than nothing, but still modern guns are better. Ah, Indiana, where you can get a CCL at 18, but cannot buy a handgun yet due to federal law. I would recommend having your parents buy you a modern handgun once you get your CCL.

    Pietta problem

My Pietta 1851 from 2010 seems to be an oddball. It works great with CCI #10's, but Remington #10's fall off all the time.

Black Powder- should I be mad?

Some of the ones I've been to do allow it, but yeah, I'm hunting for guns mainly. Blackpowder would just be a convenience.

Black Powder- should I be mad?

I've been trying to do this for a while, but I can't find a local who carries it. I guess I'll look around to see if anyone carries black powder at the gun show this weekend. I bet that I will get the same confusion when I ask.

Black Powder- should I be mad?

I did ask for some traditional archery stuff at Basspro when I was too lazy to order from Three Rivers. The salesman told me to go to Three Rivers instead since that's where he shopped for his traditional stuff. When I asked for black powder at Basspro I got silence for a few seconds. I told...

    BP at Bass Pro

The local one has empty cans on shelves with a sign telling you to ask for it. They take a photocopy of your ID and off you go.

    Pietta revolvers yes or no

That's the best price I've seen since April 2009 ($180 for a steel Navy). Jump on it. Current Pietta's are pretty great and there is always Cabelas' return policy.

Colt & Remington Pistols - Can someone help?

They look like they were hand engraved like you see on Khyber Pass gun copies.

    Glad I ain't a cowboy!

On the James D Julia auction site, I have seen cased Paterson revolvers that include a spare cylinder. I don't recall seeing any for cased models of later patterns. Does anyone have any figures on the spare cylinders shipped from the factory? That would be a good primary source of info.

Cool, I live not too far from the NFM. Haven't been there in years though.

Removing pin ('63 Remington .31 Pocket)

Yeah, probably epoxied or pressure fitted. What about cutting off the old pin?

    51 Navy chamber diameter

I rammed a ball into a chamber of my Pietta and pushed it out with a rod. If I remember correctly, it came out as .367 or .368. Then I used it to slug the barrel. As I was pushing it through the barrel, I took my Surefire and shined it in the other end. I didn't see any light. It also took a...

    Cleaning 1851 Navy Revolver?

Hmm, that US Army idea sounds good. I may have to try that this summer.

    Good... Trade...

What kind of Vz.24 did you trade? Money wise, maybe not. But to get a gun that you will enjoy, totally worth it.
