It's a fun gun for sure. Deer don't like it much.

SOLD Billinghurst switch barrel Underhammer .458/.45RB

I love this gun, but life priorities are changing and I'm not likely to find time to enjoy it as much as I used to. It was made by John Braxton of the Snow Camp area of NC. He also made the replica cannons at Fort Fisher I am told if the name sounds familiar. Anyway, I talked with John when I...

    Short Lefty

Hope I didn't put it in the wrong place. I built it. Old LH Dixie Gun works small action. 21" long 54 caliber Colerain, 15/16 Octagonal, round rifled, 56 twist. Davis double set trigger. The trigger guard was custom made by me, so I could keep my gloves on. Black walnut stock from an old...

I can't believe you evicted that snake. It was the only thing keeping the mice out of your stuff...

    New Squirreler

At 8-1/2 it isn't too bad. Compared to the 45 bullet gun, its svelt. Woe is the day that I discovered them. I even built one on the down low, during lunch breaks at work, using an 8mm rolling block barrel. Here's a link to a slow mo test video of that one: (turn on the sound)...

    New Squirreler

The squirrel rifle action is a commercial action from the Muzzleloading Emporium. They call it a "Universal" and its made by Allen Foundary. The gun with the deer in it is a typical Billinghurst design.

    New Squirreler

If you guys get some free time, search "Underhammer" Here's another one I have, with the gratuitous kill shot. It's actually a switch barrel gun, with the fast twist scoped 45, a 45 round ball, and a 54 roundball barrel. Will be getting a 54 fast twist to handle maxi's, and I may get another...

Pay no attention to the ramrod, still working on a field rod.

    tang/peep sight photo request

There is no rear sight. Scratch made build. Barrel is as virgin and pure as a northwoods snow fall.

    tang/peep sight photo request

Thanks,Sir. Took the time this weekend to go from 14 to 12-1/4" World of difference. Given the carbine length 34" barrel, handles like a dream and I should be able to mount the peep right at the breech of the tang.
