    WANTED Tow

It can but I rub the powder facing side with my TOTW Mink oil patch lube. Lubing it also keeps fouling to a minimum. I have not had that burn or smolder. I pick all of the left over tow downrange for reuse as a wad again or for cleaning with a tow worm. Can be rinsed and reused for sure. Mwal

Do's and Don'ts when buying first BP shotgun

I have older pedersoli 10GA double percussion. I like being able to vary the loads to suit the quarry be it game or clays. Just cause its a 10Ga you dont have to load it heavy. Also have a T/C 12ga New englander percussion and a .62 flintlock smoothbore. I really enjoy the Flintlock for Turkeys...

    Round ball and blood trails

I have had never had good blood trails with my .50 Flinter or my .54 caplock . None of the deer went more than 50 yards before expiring. I chalk it up to hunting from the ground and body cavity having to fill up but deer expired before that happened. I have also used modern and had great blood...

    Your Flintlock History

I started shooting a CVA .32 percussion in 82 or 83. I then built a T/C New Englander kit in .54 with 12 ga barrel. 85 I got a Hatfield .50 flintlock. I have been hooked on the flintlock ever since. Currently have New Englander, Investarms LH .50 , TVM .54 Flint and custom made .62 Flint...

Cow elk with a .50 flinter and rb

Congratulations! and thanks for the nice photos! Research cows knee to cover you lock . Also when hunting in snow or rain keep a piece of tape over the muzzle to prevent snow or rain from running down the barrel. I also refreshed the charge in the pan couple times a day. I have taken several...

    Priming Powder, 4F or ?

I forgot my 4f flask on Tuesday so I primed with 2f and really didn't notice a difference. When this Can of 4f is gone I may just prime from the main horn and call it a day. I did notice that the flash pan was much cleaner with no black goop. I fired approx 25 shots and didn't wipe pan out or...
