    How old are ya?

    63 Picked up a partial self-build about 10 years ago at an estate sale and finished it. I was hooked.

    Lock bolt placement

    Yes. Lengthwise. Canted up or down or left or right. I guess it really depends on the lock plate geometry and not hitting the ram rod channel. I need to dig through my books again.

    I saw something in a publication that talked about slightly angling one of the lock screws but can't 1!QAzxsw2@ it. Any thoughts? Front or rear? Angle front to rear, top to rear or both?

    I read somewhere that one of the lock plate bolts should be slightly angled. I can't find the reference. Should it be north-south or east-west or slightly both? Which one?

    I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the origins and time frame for this flintlock pistol. I was told that it was probably German / Austrian. There are no markings anywhere. The lock is bridleless and it is a smoothbore.
