    NMLRA, the Honorable Horners, and Others are Saving Dixon's Fair!

    Went to Dixons many years ago when first started involvement in BP. Saw RICE Barrels for first time. Learned about "lock tuning" at a seminar. A lot of good stuff to see and info to soak up. Wife even enjoyed some things.

    Watching Jeremiah Johnson

    I noticed that as JJ (getting ready to go after the Crow Indians i)s pulling his rifle from scabbard and cocks it. There must be an invisible CAP on nipple. It's not copper unless painted black. hmmmm.

    Loading cylinder capped or in capped!

    Enlarged the opening on my 1858 REM to fit capper. Also got the nipple wrench head from Dixie to fit the REM. Already had 1/4" wrench.

    Dixon Muzzleloaders Fair

    Visited Dixons a few years ago. Very good. Learned about tuning a flintlock and polishing the parts at one of their seminars. Also introduced to Rice Barrel co. A lot of excellent builds on display.

    I only polish the brass & silver on my wife's rifle. Gets shot maybe once or twice a year. Not a lot of interest on her part. I mostly have iron furniture on my rifles & handguns.     Best oil for rust prevention

    Barricade seems to work best for me, too. The oil dries up but there must be a dry coating left cause there's little if any rust, especially in my revolver cylinders.
