    how to stain a hickory ramrod?

    I've been using aqua forties on ramrods for a while now, leaves a nice older looking color to the rod. Generally I will make two applications, heating in between coats with a heat gun to get that reddish blush color...then use a scotchbrite pad to smooth the surface before applying tried & true...

    The kibler rifle is a much easier kit to put 2gether, I've had both...For whatever reason, that skinny Rice A wt. barrel is extremely accurate, can't go wrong , in my opinion...in choosing the kibler kit over the chambers kit.

    What he said...it's kinda like comparing water colors to acrylic paint, they both get the job done. but the acrylic is much more durable...I don't normally boil my barrels til after the last carding, but I'm forever experimenting to get the best results...next time I will boil after each carding...
