Shooting Military rifles like they were designed to be used

I shot with the NSSA for one year. It didn't end well. But I did learn alot. The most important thing I learned was about a bullet lube called Len's Lube that is sold by one of the vendors at Fort Shenandoah. Best bullet lube I've ever used for black powder rifles.

Range Report Veterans Arms 1740 Long Land Brown Bess

I have a Pedersoli Bess, and after alot of load testing, I get the same 4" groups at 50 yds with .690" rb in paper cartridges as I do with .715" rb with a .015" patch. Powder charge is 120 grns of Goex 2f.

    Pedersoli .72 Double Rifle

I found on mine that as I searched for a load for best regulation, all the other problems, dropped by the wayside. I shoot cci #11 mag caps, 140 grns of 2f, .715" with a .018" pillow ticking patch lubed with TOTW mink oil. The barrels regulate 2" at 50 yds.

    Brown Bess Progress Report

I have a Pedersoli Bess and I have noticed no practical difference in accuracy between a .715" prb and a .690" ball in a paper cartridge. With 120 grns of 2f, I get 4" groups at 50 yds. Since the paper cartridges are much easier to use, that is my go-to.

Questions on a rifle I saw for sale

It looks like a kit gun and not well put together at that.
