    Wad use with prb

In my experience, a felt wad (1/8” Durofelt) prevents a carbon ring when using a wet patch. I generally lube with either LVL or Dawn and water. I experience good groups at 50 yds and easy clean up.

WITHDRAWN Rare Prestine Douglass barrel 50 cal T/C 700.00

Call Douglas barrels and ask for Stanley Taylor, he’s been there for awhile and could possibly shed some light on this.

    Extremely frustrated

And some more free advice. If you watch a benchrest shooter they don’t hang on to the rifle with all they are worth. They let the rifle recoil into their shoulder, also, some guys will use their index finger and thumb to squeeze the trigger. Let the rifle recoil like it wants to. Putting a death...

    Extremely frustrated

I have found it depends on a few items. This year with th powder situation I decided to play with some Pyrodex in my Lyman GPR. All round ball shooting at 100 yds, I had a nipple go south in two outings. Groups opened up tremendously with only 75 grains of RS. The nipple had a very obvious flame...

.50 caliber Hawken sighting problems, mine, not the rifle.

I put a Pedersoli USA 465 rear sight and a Lyman 20MJT on my Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken. Makes the target very easy to see and enjoy for longer range sessions.

Felt wads under patch and ball?

Unlike coupe I tried 9/16” wads I punched out to see what a larger tighter wad would do. My results were erratic, 2-3 good shots followed with a wild one. I could only assume the wad was folding or laying over as I was pushing it down the bore. If you try them and it works excellent, but for me...

Felt wads under patch and ball?

I too have been playing with felt wads. I purchased some 1/8” felt from Duro Felt and punch them with an inexpensive 1/2” punch. So far I have not put any lube on them and they are working great. I’m using them in a Pedersoli Rocky mountain hawken 48” twist and a Lyman GPR 60” twist. My lube of...

    Source for Pedersoli spare parts?

VTI is a source I have used, recently purchased various nipples from them with quick shipping. Another possible source is Flintlocks etc, they are going out of business so I’m sure their inventory will be limited.

    Jim Kibler : Open House

I’m sure there was some outstanding wood in that pile for knife scales. Too bad for me I don’t live closer. you’ll have to share some pics when your done.

    Junk barrel?

I’m just curious how thick the blueing was.

    Lyman Guns

Liza from The Log Cabin Shop told me in an e-mail that Lyman is indeed going to no longer have Pedersoli manufacture their GPR rifles and are going back to Invest Arms. The e-mail is dated 5-12-22.
