    Loss of accuracy…

Okay here is an update, pictures posted first is the group with the fliers next is after I did some of the things mentioned. Much better groups distance 23 yrds. The better group I shot 8 consecutive shots, the high one was second to the last shot and I had a slight hang fire which could have...

    Loss of accuracy…

No such scrapper that I know of, and the only other person at my club is me in my back yard haha don’t have to many ppl around me that I know that shoot. Patch and lube are going to be changed here, just waiting this this cold spell and work slow down. I’m not sure I could remove the breech...

    Loss of accuracy…

I will have to look for a high spot and address this thank you for that insight as well. As mentioned I am shooting off sand bags, shooting at 25 yrds just as I would squirrel hunting. Was shooting around 1/2 inch group and at times 1/4inch but then as mentioned it would open up. I am going to...

    Loss of accuracy…

I do need to find a better Lube the stuff I normally use is about out and yes bore butter is not reliable for me hahah wish it was since it’s so easy to acquire. I will have my buddy shoot it for me as well, I will say I’m shooting off sandbags and have a great rest, not saying it can’t be me...

    Loss of accuracy…

I am using real black powder, don’t think Iv never even shot anything but unless someone handed me a gun to shoot and I didn’t know it wasn’t real BP. The lugs and the rust in the chamber are my next two things to tackle. So for the lugs I’m going to want to file the dovetail some to “loosen”...

    Loss of accuracy…

No none taken! I did try the cream of wheat and a tighter patch, and maybe I would get two to touch then the fliers would come. I will definitely check the underlug again but I know it was tight the last time I checked. But things Can change so i will check that as well! As far as nipples I just...

    Loss of accuracy…

It’s a traditions Crockett, these guns are normally tack drivers. And this one will do that but it also jumps around. The other day when it warmed up and I was shooting I know that my lube got way to wet snd lost it’s firmness and I was all over the paper. So today I switched patch lube and...

    Loss of accuracy…

Really?? It could be that? I don’t normally shoot percussion guns all my guns but two are flint. I’m not arguing with this just want to make sure I learn this and know why! I do clean it every time and it isn’t old at all still new actually, so a nipple could be that big of an issue then

    Loss of accuracy…

Just wondering have any of you experienced a loss of accuracy as you shoot? First 5 or so shots are pretty good then things start to go everywhich way? I have that happen with a particular gun, now I have to remove some rust from the chamber and I’ll be doing that here probably tonight and this...

    Love This Gun

You can make em look old and worn and no one will know it’s a Crockett 😉

    Love This Gun

Well I hate to throw a wrench in the gears bc we have been talking the Crockett it and to be honest I would still get it over the Investarms BUT if you want a .36 they have one either flint or percussion. Sold out now one muzzle-loaders.com but still an option...

    Love This Gun

I love mine the balance is great! I sold the one I had years ago and just recently purchased another one. It’s actually better then I remember, a little work and they can look really nice. Though Iv never had a pedersoli scout I will say you don’t hear to many ppl saying that the Crockett...

    Breech plug removal

I was pretty sure it hit the tree last night but since it was dark I wasn’t sure but proofs in the pudding

    Breech plug removal

Hahah yes it was, have got a lot stuck in a muzzleloader but never wedged something in like that and then broke the tip. Wasn’t sure if it would budge but it shot out and hit the tree beside my truck so it won’t bother me anymore. Thanks again for the tip!
