I've never been a fan of the CVA rifles because of them beginning made in Spain but this past January I saw one at a gun show brand new in a box it was the Mountain rifle and a 45 caliber it said on the barrel and made in the USA. The young man who had the rifle said it had been his dad's and he...

Pawn Shop CVA Mountain Rifle Today

I went to a January of this year gun show and found a new in the box CVA Mountain rifle made in America in a 45 caliber for a asking price of $200. I offered $150 and he declined which I could understand. I went to the gun show the next day the guy and rifle was still there. Figuring he hadn't...

WANTED Sante Fe or Ithaca Hawken

Track of the wolf offered a Santa fe hawkens rifle in kit form back in the eighties with a really nice piece of wood. I bought one of these and it has been a great shooter and I still have it to this day. If you can find one you can't go wrong. At that time you could buy one as a kit for only...

SOLD SALE PENDING $395.00 50 Caliber Mountain Rifle - Traditions

The trigger guard isn't correct for this rifle because I have one and I also replaced it as this one has been replaced at some point and time. The trigger guard on this rifle is more correct than the original. Looks much better than the original I think. You got lucky.

Your best deal acquiring a muzzleloader, either trade or purchase

I went to a January gun show and picked up a new in the box CVA HAWKEN MOUNTAIN fifty caliber rifle for a measly hundred dollar bill. The funny part is it said made in the USA and marked as a 45 caliber but is actually a fifty. Duh!

Pyrodex “P” High Pressure Cylinder Over Rotation…..

I have used prodex since 1976 and it has always worked well for me. I have no rusted barrel guns nor actions on any of my pistols or rifles. What I like most is on my revolvers I can shoot all day without cleaning my barrels and can still see the rifling at the end of the day. Try doing that...

    SOLD Navy Arms 1863 Springfield

I have virtually the same rifle but mine is the 1864 version and it was made in Japan as well and it is a Navy Arms. My barrel is in the white like the originals and the lock is blued. The workmanship is excellent and at first glance it almost appears original. I've had mine for about 35 years...

    CCI #11 Percussion Caps

I've been to two Wal-Mart stores and inquired about #11 percussion caps and was told by each department head that they were sold out and no more were going to be ordered. I find that rather odd because the hunting season hasn't begun here and they have no interest in replenishing their stock yet...

    This is insane...

Three weekends ago I bought a Uberti colt paterson revolver with the loading lever for $600 at a Tulsa gun show. I had bought one just like it in the early eighties but to raise money for a trip to Africa I sold it along with more of my collection to pay for my trip. I had looked for years to...

Pietta Starr D.A. Civil War revolver

Much of the Starr pistols problems is with the design and mechanisms of the pistol itself and that's mostly the double action revolver the single action is much better. Like yourself I'm intrigued with the design and like all things 19 th century. Pietta could I believe done a better job of...
